HSBC arranges Birthday celebration for the Children of Mercy Centre in Klongtoey
เอชเอสบีซีจัดงานฉลองวันเกิดแก่เด็กศูนย์เมอร์ซี่ คลองเตย

	HSBC Thailand CEO, Mr.Matthew Lobner, and staff volunteers threw birthday parties for the underprivileged children at Mercy Centre (Human Development Foundation) in Klongtoey. The parties were held in quarterly for children born in each quarter throughout 2011.   Activities, including a music game, cupcakes decoration, and also lunches were provided by HSBC for all the children in the Centre. Their faces were lifted with joy as Mr. Lobner, representing HSBC Group, handed them the beautiful birthday presents. The party is a heartfelt success; not only was this shown through the happy faces of the children but also those of the volunteers.   มร.แมตทิว ล็อบเนอร์ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี นำพนักงานอาสาสมัคร ร่วมจัดงานฉลองวันเกิดให้แก่เด็กด้อยโอกาสในศูนย์เมอร์ซี่ ภายใต้การดูแลของมูลนิธิส่งเสริมการพัฒนาบุคคล คลองเตย โดยงานฉลองดังกล่าวได้จัดขึ้นทุกไตรมาสสำหรับน้องๆ ที่มีวันเกิดในช่วงไตรมาสนั้นๆ   ในงาน เต็มไปด้วยกิจกรรมที่สร้างความสนุกสนานให้กับเด็กๆ อาทิ เกมส่งของตามจังหวะเพลง กิจกรรมแต่งหน้าเค้ก การเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวัน และที่ขาดไม่ได้คือ การมอบของขวัญวันเกิดให้กับน้องๆ โดยกิจกรรมที่จัดขึ้นนี้ นับเป็นการมอบความสุขให้กับทั้งเด็กๆ และพี่ๆ อาสาสมัครด้วย

Thai students win ‘Jade Award’ in HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards' regional competition
นักศึกษาไทยชนะการประกวดแผนธุรกิจยอดเยี่ยมระดับภูมิภาค

	Representing Thailand, two students from Thammasart University won the second runner-up Jade Award in the regional competition of the 7th HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2010-11 for its ‘Heart & Sole’s Convertible Heels’ project, which is to make available high-heeled shoes with adjustable height to combine fashion and comfort. The team received trophies and an HSBC Business Development Fund of HK$20,000.   ทีมนักศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ สร้างชื่อเสียงแก่ประเทศไทยอีกครั้งในการประกวดเอชเอสบีซียอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่ ระดับภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิก ที่ฮ่องกง ซึ่งธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ได้จัดอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่ 7   ในครั้งนี้ น.ส.วรวรรณ หวังพานิชกุล และน.ส.ธมนวรรณ เฉิน นักศึกษาจากคณะพาณิชย์ศาสตร์และการบัญชี หลักสูตรนานาชาติ จากมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ได้รับรางวัลรองชนะเลิศอันดับ 2 (Jade Award) พร้อมรับโล่ห์ประกาศเกียรติคุณ และเงินรางวัล 20,000 เหรียญฮ่องกง โดยนำเสนอแผนธุรกิจ "Convertible heels" หรือ "รองเท้าแฟชั่นสตรีที่สามารถปรับส้นได้" ซึ่งเป็นนวัตกรรมทางความคิดล่าสุด เพื่อเป็นทางออกที่สมบูรณ์แบบสำหรับสาวๆที่ต้องการรองเท้าที่ใส่สบาย สะดวก และสร้างความมั่นใจ

HSBC "Green Library" opens for public service
"ห้องสมุดสีเขียว" โดยเอชเอสบีซี เปิดให้บริการแก่ประชาชนแล้ว

	Mr. Matthew Lobner, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Thailand presents the country’s first Green Library to Ms. Pranee Satayaprakop, Deputy Director-General of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to be managed and operated for public service. The Green Library is aimed to serve not only as a knowledge centre but also a prototype educational model of an environmental-friendly and energy-saving building.   The Green Library is located at H.M. the Queen’s 60th Birthday Park at Romklao Housing Estate, Lad Krabang and is now open for public use.   มร.แมตทิว ล็อบเนอร์ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ประเทศไทย ส่งมอบห้องสมุดสีเขียวแห่งแรกในประเทศไทย ให้แก่กรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อให้เป็นแหล่งศึกษาหาความรู้ และเป็นอาคารต้นแบบในการประหยัดพลังงาน และอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืน โดยมีนางสาวปราณี สัตยประกอบ รองผู้อำนวยการสำนักวัฒนธรรม กีฬา และการท่องเที่ยว กรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นผู้แทนรับมอบ   ห้องสมุดสีเขียวดังกล่าวตั้งอยู่ ณ สวนเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 60 พรรษา สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ในชุมชนเคหะร่มเกล้า เขตลาดกระบัง โดยได้เปิดบริการให้แก่ประชาชนแล้ว เมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 2554

HSBC supports Thai Red Cross for flood relief in southern Thailand

HSBC launches creative financial literacy programme for young children.
เอชเอสบีซี เปิดตัวโครงการให้ความรู้เชิงสร้างสรรค์สอนเด็กไทยให้ใช้เงินเป็น

	HSBC has partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) Thailand to provide young students with basic financial literacy skills, so helping them to make wise and ethical decisions in their daily lives. In line with HSBC’s Corporate Sustainability philosophy, HSBC staff have volunteered to teach JA's More than Money programme at various primary schools and so prepare children for a bright financial future.   Junior Achievement (JA) Thailand is a registered charitable organization which is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. JA's More than Money programme is a creative, fun way for children aged 7-11 to learn about areas of personal finance such as earning, spending, sharing and saving. HSBC Group has committed to provide US$5.5 million to JA Worldwide to implement its programme over a period of four years, Thailand being one of the countries to adopt the creative learning module.   Mr. Willie Tham, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Thailand said: “As the one of the world’s leading banks, HSBC is committed to building sustainable communities. So, we have taken the initiative to support JA's More than Money programme to groom our children to become self-sufficient and responsible citizens in the global economy. HSBC partners with Bangkok to develop Green Library; aims for Asia's first LEED platinum-certified public library.
เอชเอสบีซี จับมือ กรุงเทพมหานคร สร้าง "ห้องสมุดสีเขียว" หวังเป็นห้องสมุดประชาชนแห่งแรกในเอเชียที่ได้ LEED Platinum

	HSBC and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a Green Library, an energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly public library developed as a sustainable solution to the issue of climate change. The project aims to be Asia’s first public library accredited with a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certificate - the highest level, internationally-recognised green building standard.   Mr. Willie Tham, HSBC Thailand CEO, said, “As one of the world’s leading banks and the first foreign bank established in Thailand, HSBC sees the need to lead initiatives to help mitigate challenges that climate change presents the world. We are pleased to partner with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and other leading organisations in Thailand to develop a Green Library which will serve not only as knowledge centre for the country, but also as an educational model that demonstrates green building principles and practices.”   Bangkok Governor, M.R. Sukhumbhan Paribatra said, “We are very pleased to launch the Green Library project as it will achieve two objectives set by the BMA: To promote life-long learning and sustainably reduce the impact of climate change. Additionally, the project will act as a springboard for other organisations to incorporate green building principles into their building design and management.”   “This very first Green Library for Thailand is situated in H.M. the Queen’s 60th Birthday Park in the Rom Klao Community, Lad Krabang, Bangkok, where over 26,000 people and 9,193 households live within 16 sub-communities. The Green Library is expected to benefit both the local community and other visitors wishing to learn more about green building principles.”   HSBC has provided funding for the construction of the library while BMA has contributed land, books and some interior fittings. In addition, other leading organisations have provided invaluable services and supports especially DWP, Jones Lang Lasalle, EEC Lincolne Scott, Schneider Electric, Cost Plan and TROP Design. After completion, the library will be managed and maintained by the BMA.   The Green Library is designed and constructed according to LEED guidelines, issued by the US Green Building Council; an internationally recognised accreditation system which scores buildings according to their compliance to environmental standards.   The project will be completed in December 2010.   ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ประเทศไทย จับมือ กรุงเทพมหานคร ลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือ (MOU) สร้าง “ห้องสมุดสีเขียว” หรือ “Green Library” แห่งแรกของประเทศไทย เผยเป็นห้องสมุดประชาชน และเป็นอาคารต้นแบบในการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมและลดโลกร้อนแบบยั่งยืนหวังเป็นห้องสมุดประชาชน แห่งแรก ของเอเชียที่คว้าประกาศนียบัตรรับรองอาคารเขียวระดับสูงสุด จากมาตรฐาน LEED Platinum ของสหรัฐอเมริกา   มร.วิลลี แทม ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ประเทศไทย เปิดเผยว่า “เอชเอสบีซี ในฐานะ ธนาคารชั้นนำระดับโลก และธนาคารแห่งแรกในประเทศไทย มีนโยบายส่งเสริมความยั่งยืนขององค์กรและ ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม จึงได้ริเริ่มโครงการต่าง ๆ เพื่อลดปัญหาจากวิกฤติการณ์โลกร้อน และหนึ่งในโครงการ เหล่านั้น ก็คือ “ห้องสมุดสีเขียว” หรือ Green Library ซึ่ง เอชเอสบีซี รู้สึกยินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้ร่วมมือกับ กรุงเทพมหานครและองค์กรชั้นนำอื่น ๆ ในการพัฒนา “ห้องสมุดสีเขียว” ให้เป็นห้องสมุดประชาชนที่ไม่เพียง เป็นแหล่งศึกษาหาความรู้เท่านั้น หากแต่ยังจะเป็นต้นแบบอาคารสีเขียวให้ประชาชนทั่วไปได้เข้ามาศึกษา เกี่ยวกับองค์ประกอบ ของอาคารที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม และการประหยัดพลังงาน”   ม.ร.ว.สุขุมพันธุ์ บริพัตร ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร กล่าวว่า “กรุงเทพมหานครมีความยินดีที่ได้เปิดตัว โครงการ “ห้องสมุดสีเขียว” ซึ่งมีความสอดคล้องกับนโยบายของกรุงเทพมหานคร ในการพัฒนาห้องสมุด มิติใหม่สำหรับเด็ก เยาวชน และประชาชนได้เข้าใช้บริการ ตลอดจนสนับสนุนให้กรุงเทพมหานครเป็น “มหานครแห่งการอ่านและการเรียนรู้” อีกทั้งยังสอดคล้องกับนโยบายของกรุงเทพมหานครในการลดโลกร้อน อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมอีกด้วย นอกจากนี้ โครงการนี้จะยังจะเป็นต้นแบบและแรงบันดาลใจให้องค์กรอื่น ๆ ได้นำ หลักการของอาคารสีเขียวไปใช้ในการออกแบบและบริหารจัดการอาคาร ซึ่งจะเป็นการขยายผลไปสู่ สาธารณะอันจะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อสังคมในวงกว้าง”   “ห้องสมุดสีเขียวแห่งแรกของประเทศไทยนี้ ตั้งอยู่ ณ สวนเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 60 พรรษา สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ ในชุมชนร่มเกล้า เขตลาดกระบัง กรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งรวมชุมชนย่อยไว้มากถึง 16 ชุมชน และมีประชากร อาศัยอยู่กว่า 26,000 คน หรือ 9,193 ครัวเรือน จึงเชื่อว่าห้องสมุดสีเขียวนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อประชาชน ในชุมชน ที่จะได้มีแหล่งศึกษาหาความรู้เพิ่มเติม และเป็นศูนย์กลางให้เด็กและเยาวชนใช้เวลาว่างให้เป็น ประโยชน์ นอกจากนี้ ยังเป็นอาคารต้นแบบให้ประชาชนทั่วไปได้ศึกษาวิธีการประหยัดพลังงาน และ ลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมในการใช้ชีวิตประจำวันอีกด้วย”   ทั้งนี้ ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ได้เป็นผู้ริเริ่มโครงการ และสนับสนุนงบประมาณหลักสำหรับการก่อสร้างห้องสมุด สีเขียวแห่งนี้ โดยได้รับความอนุเคราะห์จากกรุงเทพมหานครในการจัดหาพื้นที่สำหรับพัฒนาโครงการจัดหา หนังสือในห้องสมุด และการตกแต่งภายในบางส่วน นอกจากนี้ ยังมีองค์กรชั้นนำที่เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านต่างๆ ได้เข้ามาร่วมให้คำปรึกษา ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการออกแบบและก่อสร้าง ได้แก่ DWP บริษัท โจนส์ แลง ลาซาลล์ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด บริษัท ชไนเดอร์ อิเล็คทริค ไทยแลนด์ บริษัท อีอีซี ลินคอล์น สก็อตต์ บริษัท คอสท์ แพลน จำกัด และ บริษัท T.R.O.P จำกัด โดยหลังจากการก่อสร้างและตกแต่งห้องสมุดสีเขียวเสร็จสมบูรณ์ ในเดือนธันวาคม 2553 กรุงเทพมหานครจะเป็นผู้บริหารจัดการและบำรุงรักษาห้องสมุดสีเขียวแห่งนี้ เพื่อ ประโยชน์แก่ประชาชนต่อไป   ห้องสมุดสีเขียว ได้รับการออกแบบและก่อสร้างตามหลักการของ LEED ซึ่งเป็นมาตรฐานของสภาอาคาร สีเขียว (Green Building Council) ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา และเป็นมาตรฐานที่ได้รับการยอมรับในระดับ นานาชาติ โดยเชื่อมั่นว่า ห้องสมุดสีเขียว จะเป็นห้องสมุดประชาชนแห่งแรกในเอเชียที่ได้รับประกาศนียบัตร รับรองอาคารเขียวระดับ LEED Platinum ซึ่งเป็นการจัดอันดับอาคารสีเขียวระดับสูงสุดอีกด้วย

HSBC supports SOS Children's Villages
ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซีบริจาคเงินให้แก่มูลนิธิเด็กโสสะแห่งประเทศไทย

	HSBC Thailand donated $25,000 to support SOS Children Foundation in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the Queen. In addition to the monetary contribution, HSBC also organised a staff volunteering activity with the SOS Children’s Villages located in Bangpoo. The activities include dharma-for-kids session, flower pot painting and lunch for the children.   ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ได้บริจาคเงินเป็นจำนวน 25,000 เหรียญสหรัฐ เพื่อสนับสนุนค่าใช้จ่ายในการส่งเสริม การศึกษาให้แก่น้องๆ ที่อยู่ภายใต้การอุปถัมภ์ของมูลนิธิเด็กโสสะแห่งประเทศไทย ในพระบรมราชินูปถัมภ์ โดยนอกจากการบริจาคเงินแล้ว ธนาคารยังได้จัดกิจกรรมพนักงานอาสาเพื่อร่วมกิจกรรมกับน้องๆ ของมูลนิธิ โดยได้มีการร่วมกันฟังธรรมะบรรยายสำหรับเด็ก พร้อมกับร่วมกิจกรรมสนุกๆ ในการระบายสีกระถางดอกไม้ และเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวันให้แก่เด็กๆ ด้วย

โครงการประกวด “เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่” ประจำปี 2552-53

	HSBC Thailand recently held the final round competition of the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Award 2009/10. This year, the team ‘Thamfit’ from BBA International, Thammasat University won the Gold Award from their project ‘Elements Fitness’, which is a fitness centre designed to cater different needs and body types of the new modern, active, and sophisticated women who seek to achieve healthy body, mind, and soul. The fitness provides activities for women to exercise with the infusion of the four elements of earth, water, wind, and fire. HSBC in Thailand is partnering with the British Embassy, the British Council Thailand, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), The Mall Group, LG Electronics and several other prominent business partners to launch a large-scale, environmental project: ‘The Bangkok Big Switch.’ The campaign aims to encourage households in the Bangkok metropolitan area to reduce their electricity consumption, so lessening carbon emissions which so greatly contribute to the global warming challenge facing our planet today.

Mr. Willie Tham, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Thailand said: "As a leading global and the world's first carbon-neutral bank - committed to sustainable development - HSBC is extremely grateful to gain the cooperation of other leading public and private sector organisations to debut the Bangkok Big Switch project. The campaign aims to reduce household electricity usage in the Bangkok metropolis, lessening carbon emission produced in its generation and so begin to address the environmental sustainability issue."

The combined total of carbon Kg saved by all participants will be calculated and a corresponding monetary donation made directly by HSBC Thailand and its supporting partners. This donation will be used to build a publicly-accessible Green Library prototype to demonstrate environmentally friendly lifestyles.

In order to promote public involvement and commitment to sustainable electricity conservation, the competition runs over a period of 3 months (August - October 2009). As an incentive, those households achieving the greatest electrical energy saving will win prizes from a selection of 200 low-energy consumer appliances and other environmentally-friendly products, having a combined value of over one million baht.

ปริมาณไฟฟ้าทั้งหมดที่ประหยัดได้จากผู้ที่เข้าร่วมโครงการจะนำมาคำนวณเป็นเงินบริจาคสมทบโดยธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี และผู้สนับสนุน เพื่อนำไปสร้าง “ห้องสมุดสีเขียว” ซึ่งเป็นห้องที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมและประหยัดพลังงาน เพื่อมอบเป็นสาธารณประโยชน์ต่อไป

เพื่อรณรงค์ให้ประชาชนมีส่วนร่วมแก้ไขปัญหาโลกร้อน ธนาคารได้จัดแข่งขันประหยัดไฟเป็นเวลา 3 เดือนระหว่างเดือนสิงหาคม-ตุลาคม โดยจะเลือกเดือนที่มียอดใช้ไฟน้อยที่สุดมาเทียบกับยอดใช้ไฟในเดือนมิถุนายน แล้วคิดเป็นสัดส่วนเปอร์เซ็นการประหยัดไฟ ทั้งนี้ ผู้ที่สามารถลดการใช้ไฟฟ้าได้มากที่สุด 200 คนแรก จะได้รับรางวัลเครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้าประหยัดไฟ และผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมมูลค่าทั้งสิ้นกว่า 1 ล้านบาท

Thammasat University students win HSBC Young Entrepreneur Award
นักศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์คว้ารางวัลชนะเลิศ การแข่งขันประกวดแผนธุรกิจ“เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่”ประจำปี 2551 - 52

Undergraduate degree students of B.A. Business Administration, Thammasat University, were awarded gold prize in the final-round competition of the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2008/09. They attracted the attention of the panel of judges with a business idea called 'Port 3.0' - a time-saving, cable less portable storage device which connects to computers and the Internet via wireless. The team was invited to represent Thailand at the regional contest recently held in Hong Kong and tried to lay claim to the 'Best of the Best Award.' However, despite not being successful at winning this ultimate accolade, they none-the-less gained valuable practical experience from the competition and study tour ... none of which would possibly have been gained by simply sitting in class!

ทีมนักศึกษาคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี จากมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ คว้ารางวัลชนะเลิศในการแข่งขันประกวดแผนธุรกิจ “เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่” ประจำปี 2551-52 ด้วยแผนธุรกิจ Port 3.0 ที่นำเสนอนวัตกรรมอุปกรณ์เก็บข้อมูลแบบพกพา ที่สามารถเชื่อมต่อแบบไร้สายกับคอมพิวเตอร์และอินเตอร์เน็ต และเป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปแข่งขันชิงสุดยอดแผนธุรกิจในระดับภูมิภาคที่ฮ่องกงเมื่อเดือนมิถุนายนที่ผ่านมา แม้จะพลาดหวังคว้ารางวัลกลับบ้าน แต่ประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับจากเวทีประกวด และทัศนศึกษาพิเศษในต่างแดนเป็นรางวัลชีวิตที่หาไม่ได้จากในห้องเรียน

HSBC welcomes CCF children from Sakaeo
ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซีจัดกิจกรรมน้องพบพี่ให้แก่น้องๆ จากมูลนิธิซีซีเอฟ

3In cooperation with the CCF Foundation Thailand, HSBC held an employee engagement activity for its current Child Sponsorship Programme, which saw 32 children from Sakaeo province visit Bangkok. HSBC staff volunteers gave the children a warm welcome at HSBC head office, participated in friendship-building activities and hosted lunch for them. After lunch, volunteers were further delighted to take the children on a field trip to Siam Ocean World to learn about the sea and its creatures.

เพื่อส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของพนักงานและเพื่อตอบแทนสังคม ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซีได้จัด “กิจกรรมน้องซีซีเอฟพบพี่เอชเอสบีซี” โดยร่วมกับมูลนิธิ ซี.ซี.เอฟ ในประเทศไทย นำน้องๆ จากจังหวัดสระแก้วในอุปการะของเอชเอสบีซีจำนวน 32 คน มาทัศนศึกษาที่กรุงเทพฯ ทั้งนี้ พนักงานอาสาสมัครได้ต้อนรับน้อง ๆ อย่างอบอุ่นที่สำนักงานใหญ่ของธนาคารฯ และได้ร่วมกิจกรรมกระชับสัมพันธ์ พร้อมเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวัน นอกจากนี้ ยังได้พาน้องๆ ไปทัศนศึกษาที่สยามโอเชี่ยนเวิลด์ เพื่อเสริมสร้างการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับโลกใต้ทะเลด้วย

HSBC staff volunteer to plant trees to alleviate global warming
พนักงานเอชเอสบีซีอาสาปลูกต้นไม้ ลดโลกร้อน

39 HSBC staff joined the Green Outing activity whereby more than 100 trees were planted in the HSBC Garden, which serves as the green space for the Bangkok Metroplex. Staff volunteers were divided into groups, each of which had to plant 10 small trees and a big one too. This activity will not only help alleviate environmental issues, but also promoted staff teamwork and enhanced inter-departmental cooperation. HSBC has been collaborating with WWF in the HSBC Garden project in order to provide additional green space for the Metropolitan Bangkok and serve as a comprehensive learning center for ecological agriculture for Thai Youth and the general public.

HSBC visits Green School
เอชเอสบีซีได้เยี่ยมชมและติดตามผลการดำเนินโครงการลดรอยเท้าทางนิเวศ

HSBC representatives visited Wat Nong Yai School to observe and monitor project results. The school, one of 20 winners of the “School Ecological Footprint Challenge”, is located in Bangkok's suburbs and has been running several projects aimed at reducing the school's carbon footprint, such as use of garbage banks, green space expansion, garden beautification and hydroponic vegetable farms. HSBC also invited media representatives whose attendance ensured publicity of the programme’s success.

Redemptorist students visit HSBC Headquarter
พนักงานอาสาสมัครเอชเอสบีซีได้เดินทางไปจัดกิจกรรมสอนหนังสือแก่นักเรียนโรงเรียนอาชีวพระมหาไถ่ พัทยา

Following HSBC staff's earlier visit to the Redemptorist Vocation School, Pattaya, to take part in the Employee Volunteer Teaching Programme, the time came for the school to visit HSBC! Student representatives and teachers from the school took a tour of BKH offices and learned about the banking industry. To further enhance their learning experience with a fun activity, HSBC took them to Siam Ocean World, where all were keenly able to learn more about the underwater world.

HSBC speaks at Asia-Pacific Business Forum

Ms.Teresa Au, Head of Corporate Sustainability, HSBC Asia Pacific, attended the Asia-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok, at which she shared her views on how combating the climate change can be turned into business opportunities. The event was organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Schools' Ecological Footprint Challenge Award Ceremony
โครงการแข่งขันลดรอยเท้าทางนิเวศในโรงเรียน (Schools Ecological Footprint)

HSBC, in collaboration with the British Embassy Bangkok, the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion and the British Council, hosted an awards ceremony for the Schools Ecological Footprint Challenge Project. Twenty winning schools attended the ceremony, which was held at the British Ambassador’s residence. The awards were given in recognition of the best twenty projects - submitted by schools nationwide - that found ways to reduce environmental impacts. Each winning school received a certificate together with a development fund contribution of 30,000 baht to implement their project.

HSBC's Nurture of Young Entrepreneurs
ประกวดแผนธุรกิจโครงการ เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่

HSBC continues its programme of nurturing young, budding entrepreneurs under its HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards Competition 2008-09 – now running for its fifth consecutive year. 126 participating teams totaling 359 students applied for the programme - all of whom were invited, free of charge, to attend a business plan workshop. Additionally, a discussion forum entitled ‘Trendsetting Business Ideas’ was provided which aimed to inspire youths and create a new generation of entrepreneurs. The committee panel of judges comprised: Khun Nattachai Ungsriwong, a founder of Play Ground community website; Khun Natthorn Rakchana, developer of Aromatic Products, Karmakamet; Khun Uthaiwan Sukphanpim, the owner of Pangan Book shop, and Khun Sorakol Adulyanon (Noom Muang Chan), a renowned columnist of Matichon.

Christmas Tree Charity Project
เอชเอสบีซี บริจาคเงิน 25,000 บาท ในโครงการประกวดต้นคริสต์มาสเพื่อการกุศลประจำปี 2551

HSBC donated 25,000 baht to the Rachaprachanukroh Foundation, as part of the Christmas Tree Charity Project 2008. The project, in its second year, was organised by the Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok. HSBC’s Christmas tree won first prize and received the trophy from HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana.

HSBC staff nurtured 120 underprivileged children in Sakaeo province
พนักงานเอชเอสบีซี ร่วมกิจกรรม “ปันน้ำใจ 120 ปีเอชเอสบีซี สู่น้อง 120 คน”

CEO Willie Tham and approximately 40 HSBC staff joined with CCF Foundation to visit 120 children in Sakaeo province under its child sponsorship programme. On the day, the staff helped give out lunch and snacks to the children as well as participated in the fun activities with them, e.g. ice breaking games, piggy bank painting and alphabet book colouring. In addition to the bank’s donation of school desks, chairs, encyclopedias and school uniforms and dolls, employees also donated hundreds of donation items to the children.

พนักงานอาสาสมัครกว่า 40 คน นำโดยคุณวิลลี แทม ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ประเทศไทย ร่วมกับมูลนิธิสงเคราะห์เด็กยากจน ซี.ซี.เอฟ. ได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมเด็กในอุปการะของธนาคารทั้ง 120 คนที่จังหวัดสระแก้ว โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อกระชับความสัมพันธ์และนำความปรารถนาดีมาสู่เด็กเหล่านี้ ในวันนั้นได้มีการเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวันและอาหารว่างให้กับน้องๆ รวมทั้งยังได้จัดกิจกรรมสนุกๆ ที่ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ อาทิ เกมละลายพฤติกรรม ระบายสีสมุดภาพตัวอักษรภาษาอังกฤษ และ ระบายสีกระปุกออมสินพร้อมสอนน้องๆ ในเรื่องของการออมเงินด้วย นอกจากนี้ธนาคารฯ ยังได้บริจาคโต๊ะเรียนและ เก้าอี้ ชุดสารานุกรมสำหรับเด็ก ชุดนักเรียน และอุปกรณ์การเรียน ให้แก่ 4 โรงเรียนในจังหวัดสระแก้ว และพนักงานเอชเอสบีซีก็ได้ร่วมบริจาค เสื้อผ้า เครื่องเขียน ตุ๊กตา และ ของเล่นต่างๆ มากมายให้แก่เด็กๆ ด้วย

Unveiling of "HSBC Garden"
เปิดตัวโครงการ "HSBC Garden"

HSBC, in partnership with WWF Thailand and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, are rolling out an initiative for environmental conservation. The Bank is launching its ‘HSBC Garden’ project on an 80 rai plot of land at the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture, Pathumthani province. The project aims to provide additional green space for the Metropolitan Bangkok and serve as a comprehensive learning center for ecological agriculture for Thai Youth and the general public alike.

The HSBC Garden project is a good example of HSBC’s strong commitment and determination to ensure that environmental conservation activities are implemented successfully. HSBC has committed two million Baht for two years towards the development of this Environmental Education Centre.

Besides HSBC’s role in funding this project, the Bank will encourage their employees to actively participate in environmental conservation initiatives. The Bank’s intentions are for the HSBC Garden to provide long term benefit for Youth, the academic groups from government and private sectors - and the public in general, through the provision of experiential learning activities. In summary, this project will raise public awareness and enhance understanding and on the need for ecological conservation.

WWF Thailand’s Ambassador, “Beam” Kawee Tanjararak, also joined the Opening Ceremony of the HSBC Garden. He represented younger generations helping to plant trees and was joined by executives from HSBC, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and WWF Thailand.

 ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ร่วมกับ WWF ประเทศไทย และกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ รณรงค์รักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม เปิดตัวโครงการ HSBC Garden บนเนื้อที่ 80 ไร่ภายในพิพิธภัณฑ์การเกษตรเฉลิมพระเกียรติ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ จังหวัดปทุมธานี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างพื้นที่สีเขียวในเขตเมืองให้แก่กรุงเทพฯ นอกจากนี้ HSBC Garden ยังสามารถเป็นศูนย์การเรียนรู้ทางการเกษตรและธรรมชาติที่สมบูรณ์แบบสำหรับเยาวชนและประชาชนทั่วไป 

โครงการ HSBC Garden เป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมที่สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของเอชเอสบีซี ในการดำเนินกิจกรรมเพื่ออนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมในประเทศไทย โดยธนาคารฯ ได้สนับสนุนงบประมาณดำเนินโครงการ HSBC Garden เป็นระยะเวลา 2 ปี เพื่อพัฒนาพื้นที่ภายในศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติและระบบนิเวศเกษตรดังกล่าว  นอกเหนือจากการสนับสนุนงบประมาณแล้ว ธนาคารฯ ยังเปิดโอกาสให้พนักงานเอชเอสบีซีได้มีส่วนร่วมดำเนินกิจกรรมด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ HSBC Garden ด้วย โดยมุ่งหวังว่าโครงการจะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ในระยะยาวทั้งแก่เยาวชน องค์กรวิชาการ ภาครัฐและเอกชน ตลอดจนสังคมโดยรวม เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจและตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการรักษาระบบนิเวศ เพื่อนำไปสู่การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนแก่สังคมไทย

ในงานเปิดตัวโครงการ HSBC Garden ได้รับเกียรติจากบีม – กวี ตันจรารักษ์ ทูต WWF ประจำประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นตัวแทนเยาวชนรุ่นใหม่มาร่วมปลูกต้นไม้ พร้อมกับผู้บริหารจากธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ผู้แทนจากกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ และ WWF ประเทศไทย เพื่อกระตุ้นจิตสำนึกของเยาวชนไทยในการดูแลรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อมอีกด้วย

HSBC presents donation to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sinrindhorn for Chaipattana Foundation
ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซีถวายเงินแด่สมเด็จพระเทพฯ เพื่อสมทบทุนมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา

In support of the Chaipattana Foundation, HSBC representatives presented a donation cheque of 1.2 million Baht to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This royally initiated foundation, together with other development foundations, is aimed at improving Thai people’s quality of life, society and the economy in Thailand. The generous donation, derived from proceeds of the sale of ‘My Beloved King’ book, was initiated by HSBC Thailand to express our gratitude and appreciation to H.M. the King for his dedication to the people of Thailand and the country.

สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี พระราชทานพระราชวโรกาสให้ผู้แทนจากธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี เข้าเฝ้าฯ ทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายเงินรายได้โดยไม่หักค่าใช้จ่าย จากการจำหน่ายหนังสือ  “พระเจ้าอยู่หัวของฉัน” เป็นจำนวนเงิน 1.2 ล้านบาท เพื่อสมทบทุนมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนา ในการดำเนินงานตามโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ และโครงการพัฒนาอื่นๆ เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของพสกนิกรชาวไทย และพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมโดยรวม

Thai students win regional HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards
นักศึกษาไทยชนะการประกวดแผนธุรกิจยอดเยี่ยมระดับภูมิภาค

An innovative cosmetic product, developed by a team of three students from Thammasart University in Thailand, won the ‘Best of the Best’ award at the regional competition for the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2007-08 – held recently in Hong Kong. The award secured HK$100,000 of further development aid from the HSBC Business Development Fund. In addition, the Thai team received the ‘Best Presentation’ award in light of their professional, persuasive and plucky performance in beating off strong competition from six other regional hopefuls; Bangladesh, Brunei, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam.

ทีมนักศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ สร้างชื่อเสียงแก่ประเทศไทย กวาดรางวัลสุดยอดแผนธุรกิจ (Best of the Best Award) และรางวัลนำเสนอแผนธุรกิจยอดเยี่ยม (Best Presentation Award) ในโครงการประกวด เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่ ระดับภูมิภาค ประจำปี 2550-51 ที่ฮ่องกง ด้วยแนวคิดธุรกิจด้านนวัตกรรมใหม่แห่งเครื่องสำอาง โดยรับเงินรางวัลเป็นทุนการศึกษามูลค่า 100,000 เหรียญดอลลาร์ฮ่องกง ทีมนักศึกษาไทยซึ่งเป็นทีมชนะเลิศระดับประเทศ สามารถเอาชนะทีมคู่แข่งจากอีก 6 ประเทศ ประกอบด้วย บังคลาเทศ บรูไน ฮ่องกง มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ และเวียดนาม

HSBC adopts 120 underprivileged children in Sakaeo province
เอชเอสบีซีในการอุปการะเด็กยากไร้ 120 คนในจังหวัดสระแก้ว

In commemoration of HSBC’s 120th anniversary in Thailand, the Bank donate US$36,364 (approx. 1.2 million baht) to the CCF Foundation, under Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The donation to this worthy cause will contribute to the sponsorship of 120 underprivileged children in Sakaeo province and, through the CCF Foundation, aimed at providing education and life skills to deprived children on streets, in care and orphans

ในโอกาสที่ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ครบรอบ 120 ปีในประเทศไทย ธนาคารจึงได้จัดกิจกรรมดีๆ เพื่อตอบแทนสังคมไทย โดยได้บริจาคเงินจำนวน 36,364 เหรียญสหรัฐ หรือประมาณ 1.2 ล้านบาท ให้แก่มูลนิธิสงเคราะห์เด็กยากจน ซี.ซี.เอฟ. ในประเทศไทย ในพระราชูปถัมภ์สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เงินบริจาคจะนำไปใช้เพื่ออุปการะเด็กด้อยโอกาสจำนวน 120 คน ในจังหวัดสระแก้ว โดยมุ่งเน้นในการส่งเสริมการศึกษา และทักษะชีวิตแก่เด็กเร่ร่อน เด็กกำพร้า และเด็กด้อยโอกาส

HSBC responds to Myanmar cyclone and China earthquake relief efforts
เอชเอสบีซีปันน้ำใจร่วมช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยในพม่าและจีน

3 June 2008 – HSBC in Thailand employees raised the fund of 318,762 baht through staff donation and fund-raising activities to support the Myanmar cyclone relief. The fund was transferred to HSBC in Hong Kong to be collected with donations from other countries. HSBC has also donated HK$2.5 million on top of the HK$5.85 million donation from public and employees. All the donations were passed through the International Red Cross who will administer the delivery of relief supplies to Myanmar.

For the earthquake victims in China, HSBC has contributed HK$20.7 million and raised HK$200 million from employees and public, making the total donation of HK$220.7 million which, according to the Red Cross, represents the largest single donation amount from the corporate sector ever since. The donation will be used for the recovery and rebuilding work for schools, hospitals, water supply facilities and houses in Sichuan.

3 มิถุนายน 2551 – จากเหตุการณ์พายุไซโคลนนาร์กีสถล่มสหภาพพม่า พนักงานธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ประเทศไทย ได้ร่วมบริจาคเงินและจัดกิจกรรมการกุศลภายในธนาคาร เพื่อหาเงินช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัย โดยได้บริจาคเงินรวมทั้งสิ้น 318,762 บาท เงินบริจาคดังกล่าวได้ส่งไปรวมกับเงินบริจาคจากเอชเอสบีซีประเทศอื่นๆ ที่ฮ่องกง และธนาคารเอชเอสบีซียังได้ร่วมสมทบทุนเพิ่มเติมอีก 2.5 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง และจากพนักงานและประชาชนทั่วไปอีก 5.85 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง รวมเป็นเงินทั้งสิ้น 8.35 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง โดยเงินทั้งหมดจะมอบให้สภากาชาดสากลเพื่อให้การช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยชาวพม่าต่อไป

สำหรับความเสียหายจากเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวในประเทศจีน ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี ก็ได้บริจาคเงิน 20.7 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง รวมกับเงินบริจาคจากพนักงานและจากประชาชนทั่วไปอีก 200 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง รวมเป็นเงินบริจาคทั้งสิ้น 220.7 ล้านเหรียญฮ่องกง ที่มอบให้สภากาชาดสากลซึ่งนับเป็นยอดเงินบริจาคจากภาคเอกชนที่สูงที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ โดยเงินทั้งหมดจะนำไปใช้ในการฟื้นฟูและสร้างโรงเรียน โรงพยาบาล และที่พักอาศัย ต่อไป

HSBC in Thailand launched the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards
ธนาคารเอชเอสบีซี จัดโครงการประกวดแผนธุรกิจ “เอชเอสบีซี ยอดนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่”

2007-08, a business plan writing competition, which has been conducted for four consecutive years. The programme is aimed to provide opportunities to Thai undergraduates to acquire the basic knowledge of business and develop their capabilities for the next regional contest. This year, students from Commerce and Accountancy Faculty of Thammasat University were awarded the gold prize during the final round competition. The winners received a self-development fund worth 100,000 baht, trophies and a one-week education tour in Hong Kong. In addition, they will also be Thailand’s representatives for the Best of the Best Award competition at the regional level held in Hong Kong.

ประจำปี 2550-51  ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเป็นปีที่ 4  เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้เยาวชนไทยได้พัฒนาและเพิ่มพูนทักษะและความรู้ในเชิงธุรกิจ อีกทั้งยังเป็นสนามประลองความสามารถก่อนก้าวสู่ระดับนานาชาติ โดยในปีนี้ทีมที่ชนะเลิศการแข่งขัน ได้แก่ ทีมนักศึกษาคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี (ภาคภาษาอังกฤษ) มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ซึ่งได้รับทุนการศึกษา 100,000 บาท โล่รางวัล และทัศนศึกษาพิเศษ 1สัปดาห์ที่ฮ่องกงพร้อมเป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยร่วมประกวดระดับภูมิภาคชิงสุดยอดแผนธุรกิจที่ฮ่องกง
