From my personal experience, after completion of the program your adaptability skill will be significantly enhanced. During the program, you are required to rotate to at least three different roles where you will be expected to rise to the specific challenges of each role. In order to succeed, you will need to have positive attitude, be flexible and resourceful in dealing with competing priorities, and maintain composure in difficult situations.

Throughout the Management Trainee program, I have many opportunities and challenges to come up with new ideas to do business. Generating creative solutions to workout problems while nurturing a team environment will be part of the challenge to be a successful management trainee.

Valuing Diversity
As an international organisation with over 8,000 offices worldwide, I have learned the value of diversity, both inside and outside the organization. I have been working with people from different cultures. Understanding and respecting one another's values and differences will be the key to a successful working relationship. HSBC recognises the value of diversity. I have learned to explore and adopt a broad range of interpersonal styles to handle different situations and enhance work performance as well as develop my skills as individuals.

Influencing Others
SBC operates in a highly competitive environment. The key to a successful business is to be able to achieve a "win-win" situation, for us and our customers. The key to this success is the ability to influence others, to be able to engage others, deliver convincing presentations, and respond confidently to challenging questions. Throughout the Management Trainee program, I have various opportunities to develop my influencing skills through classroom and real world experience.

With HSBC network, the program provides me a great opportunity to build stronger relationships by meeting new and exciting people. It also makes me realise that listening is a vital skill and it is not easy to master it. The more we listen to others, the more we will understand and know how to work together collectively. All in all, this helps me to work efficiently and effectively to achieve both business and personal objectives.

Knowledge and networking are major keys for career development and success at HSBC. As parts of HSBC Management Trainee program, not only I have a great opportunities to meet and share ideas with various people such as Chairman, Group CEO and trainees from around the world, I also have chances to expose myself to various part of international banking attachments and share best practices from local and global connections. At HSBC, knowledge and communication are boundless at all level.

Management Trainee program has educated me on how to work effectively together as a team. The training will elevate all managing abilities by promoting collective decision-making, group problem solving, solution development, and team success over personal success. Individual will also gain new business skills and HSBC will be more productive as a whole.

The key success of being an Operations Management Trainee (OMT) is a steep learning curve. HSBC has given me an opportunity to sharpen that curve as I have been rotating into different roles and responsibilities from time to time. In HSBC, learning does not stop when I am able to meet my target or accomplish my goal. This is because there are always more challenges to try and somethings new to learn everyday in this learning organisation. 

Regional team affords me the opportunity to learn not just from my direct colleagues and supervisors, but also across offices which exposes me to additional views useful for understanding issues and finding solutions. This has expanded my awareness and appreciation of different experiences and cultures and I enjoy working with these people. The professional and personal relationships developed while with the Regional team is one of the highlights of my career.

Since I have joined HSBC as an Operations Management Trainee (OMT), I personally find that HSBC working environment is extremely impressive, especially sharing knowledge and fostering open communication. Colleagues are openly share ideas and knowledge. Channels of communication are helpful and efficiency. Such environments are really benefit to HSBC, my team and myself.
