Documentary credit collections
We can collect commercial documents through our banking system. For exporters, it is a more secure option than trading on open account terms. For importers, it is a simple, lower cost alternative to settlement by documentary credit.

Documentary credit advising
To enhance the efficiency of your international business, HSBC provides the following value added services:

DC Safe Custody: a free service available for our electronic advising exporters to store their original DCs at HSBC, saving storage apace and providing peace of mind.

DC Confirmation: reduce bank and country risk effectively by enjoying the security of payment commitments from both the issuing bank and HSBC, the confirming bank. If your documents are presented in compliance with the terms and conditions of DC, payment from HSBC will be final.

Export financing
We want to help your business grow. to this end, HSBC offers specialised export financing options to accommodate funding gaps in your trade cycle and support your business.

Pre-shipment financing (packing credit): use your DC to finance any pre-shipment cost, including the purchase of raw materials or investment in future production.
Post-shipment financing: we can negotiate clean documents and pay the discounted value of the invoice concerned. the funds are usually advanced within 24 hours.
Non-recourse financing: we can dramatically reduce country and bank risk, exposure to interest and exchange rate fluctuations and turn your receivables into cash. What's more, once your discount the DC with us, payment is final.
Transferable DCs: ideal for buyers working with sourcing agents who require credit cover, if you are a sourcing agent or the first beneficiary, we can assist in either fully or partially transferring your DC to the ultimate supplier. If you are not the ultimate supplier, we can provide guidance on the terms and conditions of your DC.
