Investment Services
-
Unit Trust Services Unit Trusts let you diversify and broaden your portfolio across different sectors and countries, diversifying the risk a single investment can carry. You can also invest locally or in overseas markets that are normally inaccessible to individual investors. We offer a wide range of open-end solutions managed by renowned fund houses selected by HSBC's global investment experts.
Investment involves risks. Investors should refer to the Explanatory Memorandum or prospectus for further fund details and the risks involved, before making decision.
-
Structured Products In addition to the traditional investment options, we offer you a comprehensive range of structured products linked to different underlying financial instruments, such as interest rate that best meet your investment views and portfolio diversification needs, providing potentially attractive returns linked to the performance of the underlying instruments.
- Bill of Exchange Bills of Exchange are similar to cheques and promissory notes, which sometimes are referred to as a "draft". They can be drawn by individuals or banks and are generally transferable by endorsements. We offer non-transferable bill of exchange in Thai Baht currency (available for Thai residents only). A variety of terms is available from one month up to one year.
- Government Debt Securities Government Debt Securities offer you potentially higher than bank deposit returns with stable income. We offer Government Debt Securities in the secondary market to Premier customers as following:
- Treasury Bills (T-Bills) are short-term debt instruments with maturity less than one year. The bills are sold on a discount basis.
- Government bonds are medium to long-term debt instruments issued by the Ministry of Finance.
- Bank of Thailand (BOT) bonds are debt instruments issued by the central bank.
- State Owned Enterprise (SOE) bonds are medium to long-term debt instruments issued by State Owned Enterprises.
The price of bonds can and does fluctuate, and any individual bond may experience upward or downward movements. There is an inherent risk that losses may be incurred rather than profits made as a result of buying and selling bonds. The holder of bonds bears the credit risk of the issuer and has no resource to HSBC unless the latter itself is the issuer.
