Notice of PromptPay Service Interruption on 12 September 2021

Please be informed that HSBC PromptPay service will be under maintenance on Sunday 12 September 2021 during 0230-0430 Hrs. PromptPay bill payment and credit transfer services will be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window. If required, please contact your Relationship Manager on alternative payment methods.

HSBC E-Withholding Tax is now available (PDF, 1.27MB)

Please be informed that HSBC E-WHT service is now available. By subscribing to this service, HSBC Thailand will deduct the withholding tax amount that you specify for any enrolled electronic transfer and make the tax payment to the Revenue Department directly on your behalf. You will no longer be required to keep and provide withholding tax certificate in any form for your payee, as HSBC will notify your payee by email of the withheld tax amount. Both payer and payee can review the withheld tax amount on the Revenue Department website. To subscribe for this service, please contact your customer service representative. The merger of TMB and Thanachart Bank - What it means to HSBC Thailand account holders (PDF, 473KB)

TMB and Thanachart Bank have recently announced a merger agreement, and the resulting banking entity is now named TMBThanachart Bank Public Company Limited (ttb). As a result of this merger, beginning 5 July 2021, all payments made to account holders of Thanachart Bank must be changed to a new account number assigned to the account holder by TMBThanachart Bank. Additionally, the Bank Routing code must be changed in the instruction to TMBTHBK (SWIFT Code) and 011 (local bank code) depending on the payment method. No changes are necessary for payments to existing account holders of TMB Bank due to this merger, however, the bank name should be changed to reflect the new bank name. Canada payments: new Priority Payment regulations starting 1 June 2021 (PDF, 356KB)

Effective 1 June 2021, in accordance with updated local regulations, all Priority Payments sent to or from Canada must include additional beneficiary address information. Failure to provide the full beneficiary address information, the payments may be delayed or rejected by intermediary or beneficiary banks. We recommend reviewing your payment instructions and, if necessary, updating them before 1 June. We also recommend verifying that your payers include your organisation's full beneficiary address in any payments they send to you. See details of the changes here (PDF, 356KB).

Notice of changes to ‘Purpose of Payment’ codes (PDF, 363KB)

With effect from 5 December 2020 (“Effective Date”), the ‘Purpose of Payment’ codes, contained in the smart form and payment initiation screens, for payments debited from your account(s) held with us, HSBC Thailand, will be updated to reflect the latest list of purpose of payment codes as announced by the Bank of Thailand. The changes include (i) cancellation of some existing purpose codes and (ii) introduction of some new purpose codes. See details of the changes here(PDF, 363KB). Demise of CNAPS code for cross border RMB payments (PDF, 97KB)

Effective 1 January 2021, RMB cross border payments will all be migrated to CIPS platform and CNAPS will be demised. This means any payments debited to your account(s) held with HSBC Thailand, initiated through any payment channels, with CNAPS code quoted under Beneficiary Bank (field 57) or Intermediary Bank (field 56) will no longer be accepted. In order for payments to be sent through CIPS, SWIFT BIC code should be used. See sample of SWIFT BIC code here (PDF, 97KB).

Additional Bank Codes for Outward PromptPay Real-Time Payment (PDF, 249KB)

Effective 14 September 2020, HSBC Thailand will be adding additional bank codes for Outward PromptPay real-time payment services on all available channels. Please refer to the attached list of bank codes (PDF, 249KB) available with this service. If a beneficiary bank is not included on this list, this means the PromptPay service is not applicable and payment to the unlisted bank will be rejected.

Corporate Income Tax Refund via PromptPay (PDF, 796KB)

From 1 May 2020, the Revenue Department will refund Corporate Income Tax via PromptPay. As part of the preparation, all Thai entities who have applied for income tax refunds are requested to register for PromptPay through any bank providing the service.

HSBC Thailand is ready for this change. If you have not registered for corporate PromptPay, please complete the attached form (PDF, 796KB) and return together with the required supporting document to HSBC Thailand in order to register your corporate Tax ID with one and ONLY one of your HSBC Thailand bank accounts. The process will take around 7 business days and you can start receiving funds to your selected bank account using your corporate Tax ID.

Please note that if you have already completed PromptPay registration, new registration is not required due to this change; you are ready to receive corporate income tax refund through this new channel.

Remark: Please note that foreign entities are excluded from this change. Foreign entity corporate income tax refund payments will be made through A/C payee cheque.

Starting 16 December 2019, you can send Real-Time Payments from your Thailand accounts on HSBCnet. You will see a new look and feel to the HSBCnet payment screens when you select one of your Thailand accounts and choose Priority Payment in the payment type for this new service. Notification of change in amount of protected deposits

Regarding to the Deposit Protection Agency Act B.E.2551 (2008) and the Royal Decree Prescribing the Amount of Protected Deposits B.E. 2559 (2016) prescribed that the current protected deposit of 10 million Baht per customer per financial institution will be reduced to 5 million baht per customer per institution on 11 August 2019, and to 1 million Baht per customer per institution on 11 August 2020 onwards.

Discontinuation of the foreign currency demand draft service

Effective from 1 July 2019, the foreign currency bank draft issuance will be discontinued. In this regard, you could use the outward remittance telegraphic transfer (ORTT) to transfer funds for cross-border payments. Using this ORTT service helps streamline the transfer processes, and isefficient and secured.

Currently, cheque fraud cases are quite prevalent in Thailand resulting in losses to customers as well as banks. In order to prevent such risk, cheque users are requested to exercise prudence when issuing cheques by avoiding making any changes/corrections on the cheques. In the case of altered cheques, payees are requested to contact the payers to issue a new cheque or cash/deposit the cheques only at the respective issuing banks, effective from 1st February 2019.

Please be informed that from 1st January 2019, the 'purpose of payment' codes contained in all payment initiation screens and the Smart form for payments debited your account(s) held with HSBC Thailand will be updated to reflect the latest list announced by the Bank of Thailand. The changes include both cancellation of some existing purpose codes and adding of some new purpose codes. Clients/You are required to review this updated 'purpose of payment' list and to use the most appropriate code and description, which best explains your payment objective, from the day onwards. HSBC Thailand to Change EUR Corresponding Bank from 21st Nov 2018

HSBC Thailand is changing EUR correspondent bank. From 21st Nov 2018 onwards, the new EUR correspondent bank - standard settlement instruction (SSI) will be HSBC France, SWIFT BIC: CCFRFRPP. This is applicable for all EUR payments, including, commercial payments, foreign exchange, money market, derivatives and other treasury products. To receive EUR payments to your HSBC Thailand account, you may need to request your payers to update HSBC Thailand EUR correspondent bank information accordingly.

From 1 January 2016, we will no longer accept manual payments. These are payment instructions sent by fax/email, handwritten in standard paper form or free format, or Smart Forms completed by hand. These forms of payment instruction may lead to payment rejection or processing delay.
